📝 Creative work = writing, starting your business, making your art, publishing your substack, creating your content, building your personal brand - fill in the blanks.
So much yes to this entire post — especially “every piece of your work doesn’t have to represent every piece of you.” That mindset shift helped me finally start sharing. And now that I am creating consistently, the ambient anxiety really has gotten quieter. This is a keeper ❤️
WOW I FEEL CALLED OUT....in a good way. I've made so many of these excuses, and what a relief to hear a rebuttal for each one. Saving this one. Thank you!!!
I’m so bad for using so many of these excuses like I’m not an expert so why does what I have to say matter. It really is just another reason to not write because in truth I’m just scared to fail so I won’t try.
Thank you for this post has helped unlocked all those mental blocks that’s stopping me write
i love this piece. can you share a rebuttal for this one - my creative work requires me to pivot to a new space that I have limited experience in/limited connections
ahhh! do some personal projects for yourself that you feel proud of! and make an effort to connect with other peers that are in the field that you are moving into :) learn everything you can from them. you're doing a research project, view it that way!
